Retro Gaming

I am such a geek.  Went to a used game store near my work called Game World.  They have a little of EVERYTHING, as it is not a franchise, but a small privately owned and ran business in Topeka, KS.  I went in, they had TurboGrafx-16 games.  In that stack was one I have been hunting for now for a while..The Legendary Axe!  An awesome classic side scrolling arcade style game.As anyone that knows me, or has read my bio on here, knows I love retro gaming.  There is just something special about sitting back with these old games.  One, there is a bit of nostalgia involved.  Reliving childhood playing games on consoles I either previously owned, or wished I had owned.

In comparison to many modern titles, many a young gamer will turn their noses up at these games.  However, these same individuals will eat up casual games on their phones.  You realize the experience is really quite similar, minus the fact that these classic titles don't have the graphics that these newer titles have.  For a true education in how games have developed over the decades, I strongly recommend trying to find these classics.  Yes, you can do so in emulation, but to get the REAL experience, you have to get the console and the games to understand.

There is no other experience like a cramped, deformed hand after hours of playing these titles with uncomfortable joysticks and controller pads.
